Caring for surrounding communities continues to be an integral part of the commitment of Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation and Agung Sedayu Group in creating meaningful social impact. Through Tzu Chi ASG, the spirit of sharing and mutual cooperation was once again demonstrated through the distribution of Rice of Compassion Packages to underprivileged residents in Teluknaga District on 14 June 2026. 
The event, held at the Teluknaga District Office, marked the culmination of a social initiative that began the previous week. During that period, 150 Tzu Chi ASG volunteers visited 12 villages across Teluknaga District to distribute 1,000 rice vouchers to residents in need. Each voucher could be redeemed for 5 kilograms of rice. 

“Last week, we distributed vouchers to community members by visiting villages directly, and today each voucher can be exchanged for 5 kilograms of rice. Our hope at Tzu Chi Agung Sedayu is that the community receives not only rice, but also compassion and love. We hope they leave not only with full stomachs, but also with full hearts,” said Natalia Kusumo, Chairperson of Tzu Chi ASG, who personally joined the volunteers in distributing the rice. 
The assistance was received with gratitude by the beneficiaries. Appreciation was also expressed by Teluknaga District Head, Kurnia, S.STP., M.Si. “We hope this initiative will benefit our community and further strengthen the synergy and positive relationship between Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation, Agung Sedayu Group, and the people of Teluknaga District.” 

Gratitude and happiness were evident on the faces of the beneficiaries. Siti Nur Fatimah and Iyun, residents of Teluknaga District, expressed their appreciation for the rice assistance they received, noting that it provided meaningful support for their families’ daily needs. 
The Rice of Compassion Program serves as a reminder that social care is measured not only by the scale of assistance provided, but also by the sincerity, presence, and attention given to others. Through a continued commitment to humanitarian values, Tzu Chi ASG hopes to help ease the burden of local communities while fostering a stronger sense of togetherness, compassion, and solidarity within society.
