Genuine care often comes through simple actions. It is not merely about providing assistance, but also about taking the time to listen, understand, and experience firsthand the lives of those in need. This spirit was once again demonstrated by Tzu Chi Indonesia and Agung Sedayu Group through the Rice Distribution Coupon Program, which was held on 06 June 2026 across several villages in Teluknaga District. 
As part of their ongoing social commitment, Tzu Chi Indonesia and Agung Sedayu Group, through Tzu Chi ASG, invited hundreds of volunteers to engage directly with local communities. Together, they visited 12 villages in Teluknaga District to conduct surveys and distribute Rice Distribution Coupons to underprivileged residents in need of assistance. 

This initiative was not only a form of social aid distribution but also an opportunity to learn about the values of humanity and empathy. Volunteers were encouraged to witness firsthand the living conditions of local residents, understand their daily struggles, and strengthen social bonds built on care and compassion. 
Among those participating in the activity was Natalia Kusumo, Chairperson of Xieli Agung Sedayu Group. Together with fellow volunteers, she visited and conducted direct household surveys in Tanjung Pasir Village to ensure that the assistance would reach those who genuinely needed it. “Today, we visited Tanjung Pasir Village and surveyed each household individually to verify whether they matched the names on our list and whether they were truly eligible to receive assistance. Every home was carefully surveyed and interviewed before we distributed the coupons, which can be exchanged for rice next week. Some of our volunteers were visiting the village for the first time, allowing them to better understand village life and develop a deeper sense of empathy. Our hope is that the beneficiaries will feel more encouraged, have enough food to eat, enjoy better health, and live happier lives,” she said. 
This approach reflects the values consistently upheld by Agung Sedayu Group and Tzu Chi Indonesia in every social initiative they undertake, ensuring that assistance is not only delivered accurately but also accompanied by genuine care and warmth for the beneficiaries. The participation of volunteers from diverse backgrounds demonstrates how mutual cooperation and social compassion can create a broader positive impact within the community. 
Appreciation for the initiative was also expressed by Arun S. Ip, Head of Tanjung Pasir Village. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the teams from Agung Sedayu Group and Tzu Chi for their visit and support to the residents of Tanjung Pasir Village, particularly through assistance provided to the elderly, orphans, and underprivileged families,” he said. 

Behind every home visited lies a story of resilience and hope. The smiles of the beneficiaries serve as a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can bring immense happiness. Through the Rice Distribution Coupons, which can later be exchanged for rice, the program is expected to help ease the burden of daily food needs, allowing families to live with greater peace of mind and optimism.
